AP Global Summer Internship
A 12-week paid, individually tailored Global News Internship Program offers full-time students and recent college graduates the opportunity to train across media platforms and learn from skilled journalists and editors dedicated to the highest standards. Integrity is the foundation of AP, reflected in our accurate, fair and honest reporting.
Aspiring cross-format journalists will work in an AP newsroom with a designated trainer, contributing to AP’s text, video, photo and interactive reports. Interns will cover breaking news and complete a final enterprise project working across multiple formats. Their stories may be featured in media outlets around the world.

Democracy Now! is a national, daily, independent, award-winning news program hosted by journalists Amy Goodman and Juan Gonzalez. The Nation Summer Internship
A nonprofit media center, The Nation Institute was established to extend the reach of progressive ideas and strengthen the independent press. Our dynamic range of programs include a bestselling book publishing imprint, Nation Books; our award-winning Investigative Fund, which supports groundbreaking investigative journalism; the widely read and syndicated website TomDispatch; our internship program at The Nation magazine; and Journalism Fellowships that fund up to 20 high-profile reporters every year. Seven editorial interns experience a comprehensive submersion into The Nation magazine's editorial process. These interns' primary responsibilities include fact-checking and conducting research for the magazine. In addition, they assist advertising, circulation, and promotion staff with day-to-day business. Intern duties also include some routine office work. These interns are based in the magazine's New York City offices. Two additional interns, also based in the magazine's New York City offices, work as web editorial interns for TheNation.com. ONA Student Newsroom
The Student Newsroom immerses undergraduate and graduate college students in a digital media environment by providing hands-on experience during the three-day Online News Association Conference & Awards Banquet. Supported for the fourth year by Google, 20 select students will produce content for the ONA13 website before and during the conference under the personal guidance of professional mentors. Students will also get the chance to attend ONA13 programming led by experts in digital journalism, network with attendees and acquire and flex new digital media skills. All expenses — lodging, travel and registration fees — are paid. Sixteen Student Newsroom mentors with digital skills will guide one to two students before and during the conference, working one on one with them to help develop story ideas and advise coverage production.

Internship Program: Viacom's Internships are paid at a standard competitive hourly rate, so proper work authorization is needed to be employed within the United States. Interns must be available for a minimum of 10 weeks. Interns must be available to work a minimum of two full days per week (no weekends), but some departments may require more than two days. Typical business hours are 9:30AM to 5:30PM.

Emma Bowen Scholarship
The Emma L. Bowen Foundation was created in 1989 to prepare minority youth for careers in the media industry. The Foundation’s program is unlike traditional intern programs in that students work for partner companies during summers and school breaks from the summer following their senior year in high school until they graduate from college. During the four-year program, students have an opportunity to learn many aspects of corporate operations and develop company-specific skills. Corporations have an opportunity to train and mentor students with the option of full-time employment upon completion of their college degrees. Students earn an hourly salary and matching funds for college expenses.

Scripps Howard Foundation semester in Washington Internship Program
Interns report for work each day at the Scripps Howard Foundation Wire, which is housed in the same office as the Scripps Howard News Service, four blocks from the White House. Emma Bowen Scholarship
The Emma L. Bowen Foundation was created in 1989 to prepare minority youth for careers in the media industry. The Foundation’s program is unlike traditional intern programs in that students work for partner companies during summers and school breaks from the summer following their senior year in high school until they graduate from college. During the four-year program, students have an opportunity to learn many aspects of corporate operations and develop company-specific skills. Corporations have an opportunity to train and mentor students with the option of full-time employment upon completion of their college degrees. Students earn an hourly salary and matching funds for college expenses.

Carole Simpson is a former member of the Radio Television Digital News Foundation Board of Trustees. LIN Media’s Minority Scholarship and Training Program is an integral part of the Company’s strategy to strengthen its talent base and deepen connections within its local communities by building on the cultural diversity of its workforce. Scripps Howard Foundation semester in Washington Internship Program
Interns report for work each day at the Scripps Howard Foundation Wire, which is housed in the same office as the Scripps Howard News Service, four blocks from the White House.
